Apartment S is the result of transforming a completed but empty new-build apartment into a home that feels warm, personal, and full of character. The goal was not simply to furnish the space, but to give it a stronger identity and a more welcoming atmosphere, while preserving the clean and contemporary order of the original shell. The concept therefore relies on a careful balance between atmosphere and function, using softer materials, layered surfaces, and well-integrated built-in elements to make the apartment feel more inviting.

One of the key starting points of the design was the experience of arrival. The continuous built-in storage and seating element in the entry creates a highly practical reception zone, while also setting the calm and minimal tone of the apartment from the very first moment. This integrated feature organizes everyday use in a seamless way and creates a natural transition between the entrance and the rest of the home.

The material and color palette of the apartment intentionally balances two different qualities. While the inner rooms introduce more playful accents and stronger details, the entrance and connected surfaces were kept softer, more natural, and more restrained. This calm counterpoint is essential to the apartment’s atmosphere: rather than competing with the more expressive elements, it grounds them and creates a sense of overall balance.

In the bedroom, the main aim was to transform what initially felt like a cold and unfamiliar room into a softer, more intimate, and more personal retreat. Through layered materials, varied textures, and a carefully considered wall treatment, the room gained a far more welcoming character while maintaining its simple contemporary clarity. The full built-in storage system and the multifunctional wall behind the bed reinforce this sense of comfort, making the room not only visually warm, but also practical, organized, and easy to use.
