Apartment Vecsey is a compact apartment where spatial design is not merely a functional task, but one of the primary tools for shaping the overall atmosphere. The concept is centered around continuity, soft transitions, and flowing forms that make a smaller footprint feel more spacious, calm, and refined. The aim was to create an interior that is ideal for short stays, yet still conveys a genuine sense of home and an almost hotel-like comfort.

One of the apartment’s strongest defining features is the recurring undulating wall surface and the curved built-in furniture system connected to it. These softly drawn elements do not function only as visual gestures; they also guide movement through the space, soften the rigidity of the compact floor plan, and connect the various functions into a cohesive whole. The continuity between walls and built-in elements creates a calm, enveloping spatial experience that gives the apartment a unified and effortless character.

This approach is especially complex in the entrance area, where a multifunctional built-in element greets the visitor from the first moment. It provides storage, works as a dressing bench, conceals technical units, and even integrates laundry functions into one seamless system. Rather than simply serving practical needs, this feature also creates a transition between zones and immediately expresses one of the apartment’s key principles: the inseparable connection between function and form.

The main room, which combines bedroom and living functions, is carefully designed to create a compact yet high-quality spatial experience. Warm materials, a coherent color palette, and gently flowing forms ensure that the room never feels crowded or accidental, but instead composed, elegant, and easy to use. Despite its small size, the kitchen is one of the clearest examples in the project of how a minimal space can still become rich, beautiful, and highly functional. In the bathroom, the undulating wall system continues, reinforcing the sense of continuity that runs throughout the apartment.
